Course Summary
Ransomware is a type of malware that limits users from accessing their system, while demanding a ransom payment. It is becoming a large problem around the world. Victims are at risk of temporary and permanent data loss. In this Express Learning course, learn the major distinctions between ransomware and malware, the key characteristics of ransomware attacks, and the protection strategies and remediation plans for ransomware attacks that should be in place ahead of time.

Audience or Who Should Take This Course
The intended audience for this course includes cybersecurity professionals with a beginning to intermediate knowledge of ransomware concepts.
Experience Required
Prior to taking this course the learner should have an intermediate knowledge of ransomware concepts.
How This Course Works
This course is a text-based, two-hour Express Learning PDI offering. Throughout this course, learners experience the following activities:
- Text-based content
- Audio and graphics
- A mini-case (application of knowledge)
- Knowledge checks, summary checks, and final assessment
CPE Reporting
CPE credits earned for this course may be eligible for continuing professional education credits for non-ISC2; certifications. Please visit the continuing education requirements established by the credentialing organization for eligibility.
