The ability to find and analyze malware has become a necessary skill for anyone performing incident response. This Express Learning course will introduce the various types and categories of malware and their characteristics. The course will also introduce broad categories of malware analysis and show you how to collect information about malware by examining its characteristics. Finally, you will learn how to execute malware and watch how it interacts with your system.
This course includes the following three (3) modules: 1) Various Types of Malware 2) Malware Analysis Fundamentals 3) Techniques for Malware Analysis

How This Course Works
Express Learning courses created by industry experts are designed to quickly address a hot topic or trend in cybersecurity. In this course, you will be asked to read through lessons, follow course author Ric Messier as he walks you through key concepts and use Cuckoo Sandbox to assess malware samples, learn techniques used by malware to make analysis more difficult and interpret reporting.
All learning modules must be completed, including the course evaluation and a score of 70% or above earned on the final assessment, to receive your certificate of completion and earn 2 Group A CPE Credits towards your (ISC)² credentials.
CPE credits earned for this course may be eligible for continuing professional education credits for non-(ISC)² certifications. Please visit the continuing education requirements established by the credentialing organization for eligibility.
Members: Starting January 1st, 2022, CPE Credits for (ISC)² credentials will be reported by Member Services on the 1st of every month. Please allow 10 business days for processing. Courses completed prior to 1/1/2022 will need to be self-reported by members and associates through the (ISC)² CPE Portal accessible via www.isc2.org using your member login credentials.
